To our Ontario legal community – it’s time to take a stance! The LLD wishes to draw your attention to the upcoming bencher’s election for the Law Society of Ontario (LSO). One of the central issues in this election is the LSO’s role in addressing issues pertaining to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) that affect us all. The LLD recommends that you educate yourself on the various candidates and platforms, so as to make an informed vote.

Voting will occur from April 19 to 28, 2023. The names of the 40 lawyers and five paralegals elected as benchers will be announced on May 1, 2023. Benchers elected for the 2023-27 term will take office at the May 25, 2023 Convocation.
